It’s been a hectic year so far and there is plenty more to come! I’ll be exhibiting some work in Pingalis Tearooms, Hart Road, Thundersley from Saturday 22nd. October. this will be part of the Thundersley Art Trail and The Noise Festival. A lovely, local event organised to bring the community together. I’ll also be exhibiting with The Chelmsford Art Society at RHS Hyde Hall on 22nd/23rd October. I have quite a few things going on in November including a demo for the Boreham Art Club. Details will be posted as they are confirmed. I’ll be at the RHS Hyde Hall Christmas gift fair on 3rd/4th December too. Lots of new Christmassy cards this year! Hopefully I might even start my own Christmas shopping then..who knows! I know there are all sorts of things going on during that weekend at Hyde Hall. I suspect there might even be a visit from Father Christmas if he’s not too busy!!! Lots of lovely things to eat and drink too. I’ve already got workshops with Art and Craft Days, Terling and also at Hyde Hall booked for 2017. All sorts of other things in the pipe-line too. It definitely looks as though next year is going to be just as hectic as this one has been. I must enjoy it mustn’t I!!!

Now that all this years shows and classes have got in to full swing life is more than busy!

My first big show was with Essex Craft and Design at RHS Hyde Hall over the first May Bank Holiday. It was quite an experience. My first 4 day show as well as being only the second time that I had exhibited in a marquee. The weather made a spirited attempt to mess with all the plans but, with excellent work by the organisers, Jan Simon and Dave Shields, and with brilliant efforts put in by all the staff at Hyde Hall it turned out to be an amazing few days.

I’m now preparing for a month long solo exhibition in Rayleigh library as well as lots of workshops and demos.

I recently joined The Chelmsford Art Society and put some of my work in to their exhibition at Hyde Hall in February. We’ll be there again in October and I look forward to getting to know everyone better.

Looking at my list of events for the year I seem to have taken on quite a bit but, with so many opportunities being offered to me, how can I say ‘ no’ ? I’ve discovered in myself an unexpected enjoyment of teaching and love meeting so many like minded people. To shut ourselves off in a studio, for however long, is definitely an antidote to the pressures of everyday life. I also thoroughly enjoy doing shows. I meet so many amazingly talented people who are always generous with advice and encouragement. I am very much looking forward to catching up with old friends and making new ones in the course of what looks to be an exciting year.
