My Art

As a mixed media artist I paint, pen, pencil, ink, to get the effects I am looking for. There are many exciting new mediums and, often, it’s difficult to know where to stop! For portrait work I have usually worked with coloured pencils or, plain graphite but recently, I’ve added watercolour to my range and enjoy the challenge.  Inks also offer many exciting possibilities and one of my latest ventures is working with them, and a very small amount of paint, on handmade paper. Collage is beginning to feature as well.

I sell through various shows and exhibitions and also have my own range of cards. Sometimes I produce a calendar featuring a selection of my work. Magnetic bookmarks, keyrings, coasters, mugs and cushions made from some of my paintings sell well. I’m happy to discuss one off prints of suitable pieces onto canvas and I’m always open to ideas for working with my original images. See my page…    ‘All the small things’

A lot of my time now is spent teaching. Not something I ever thought I would be doing but. It means that I meet many like minded people and make new friends. One venue, in particular, the RHS gardens Hyde Hall, has become very popular. Contact details below. Commission work can also take me out of my comfort zone. There is always something new to be learnt. Please contact me for details.
